Medical Receptionist (Casual)

• Hours: Ready to start at 1 day per week (with additional availability required during the July school holiday period).

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, personable, and organised Casual Medical Receptionist.

This role is ideal for someone looking for excellent work-life balance, a student, or a parent looking to keep their foot in the door. The base commitment is 1 day per week (specific day to be discussed). However, a key requirement for this role is flexibility to step up and cover extra days during the school holiday period this coming July.

Key Responsibilities

As the face of the clinic, your day-to-day will involve:

• Patient Care: Greeting patients warmly upon arrival, managing check-ins, and creating a positive first impression.

• Appointment Management: Answering phone calls, managing emails, and booking appointments efficiently using our practice software.

• Billing & Admin: Processing payments (Medicare, health funds, and private billings), handling patient intake forms, and scanning/filing medical records.

• Clinic Presentation: Ensuring the waiting room and reception desk remain tidy, organised, and welcoming.

• Triage & Communication: Handling inquiries professionally and escalating urgent medical queries to the nursing or clinical team as appropriate.

What We Are Looking For

• Previous experience in a medical reception or customer service role.

• Exceptional communication skills and a empathetic, patient-first attitude.

• Strong multitasking skills with the ability to stay calm under pressure.

• Proficiency in medical software is a bonus.

• Availability for 1 consistent day per week, plus the flexibility to work additional shifts during the July school holidays.
